ABOUT US

Bury St Edmunds Art Society was established over sixty years ago to promote artists and the visual arts. It is a lively society, with members working in an ever-widening range of media, including: painting - in watercolours, oils and acrylics; drawing; print-making; sculpture (although we have no sculptors in the Society at present).
The Society's membership comprises people from all walks of life and includes many for whom art is a pleasurable pastime, as well as a number of distinguished professional artists (for whom art is a pleasurable occupation!)

ACTIVITIES
The Society offers a regular programme of demonstrations and lectures, as well as exhibitions, visits and occasional workshops. But very important is, of course, the opportunity to meet other artists on a friendly and informal basis.
The Society holds its main Annual Exhibition during the Summer, giving the opportunity for all members to display and offer their work for sale.
In addition, members may exhibit work in the Gallery section of this, the Society's website.

REGULAR MEETINGS
Meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month at the Hyndman Centre, Hospital Road, IP33 3JT (next to St Peter's Church). See PROGRAMME for full details.

VISITORS
are always welcome (admission £2). If you are not sure whether to join, come and try a meeting first.
